Hi, my name is Simon J. Kok and Preterist is my solo project. I did it because I could and because I wanted to and because making music is fun. Other people who contributed as session musicians to this project are Carl Johan Grimmark from Narnia on guitars and Egon Veevo on bass.

I used to play in a couple metal bands in my high school years, Lethargy (later Exarch) and Elfoer. Later, after relocating to the west coast of my home country Finland, I played for several years in a now disbanded rock band, Etappi.

No and yes. No, because it is not a band. One-man-bands are not bands, by definition. But I am a committed Christian individual and I write my songs from a Christian perspective.

Preterism is a Christian eschatological perspective. Eschatology means the study of the last things. Think the apocalypse, end of the world, the second coming of Christ and so on – except that preterism is radically different. Whereas futurism, which is the dominant perspective, sees fulfillment of biblical prophesy in the future, preterism sees it in the past. Hence the name (praeter; lat. the past).
